Last week, Bulldogs football players and coach Mark Richt spent some time with kids at Camp Sunshine, which serves more than 1,000 children with cancer and their family members with an activity filled summer camp in Rutledge, Ga.
Among those activities was a little time shooting hoops. Lo and behold, Georgia sophomore running back Nick Chubb – who is listed at 5-feet-10, 220 pounds – showcased his inner Michael Jordan with a tomahawk dunk.
Chubb told the AJC’s Seth Emerson, in between picture taking and rim-slamming:
“It’s a great experience,” Chubb said. “It’s totally different for me to come out here and see these kids, seeing what they’re going through, and to be so strong and have a good time, and not have a care in the world right now. They’re going through one of the worst things ever and are just freely running around, having fun. So it’s really great to see them not really worrying about what they have.”
