As if playing for a chance at an SEC title wasn’t enough, Waffle House has thrown a major prize for the fans of the winner of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

The SEC outpost Saturday Down South reports that a Waffle House in Athens or Auburn will serve free waffles, hashbrowns and coffee for a day, depending on the outcome of Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs and Tigers at Sanford Stadium.

“College football is a big tradition in the waffle nation and we wish both teams good luck,” Waffle House CEO and President Walt Ehmer told Saturday Down South.

Ehmer, it should be noted, is 1989 graduate of Georgia Tech.

But nobody would be more hurt by a Georgia win than Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn, who celebrated last year’s Prayer at Jordan-Hare win with a “Waffle House night.”
