The #FreeGurley social media campaign has stretched across the landscape.
Fans have taken to Facebook to gain support for Georgia running back Todd Gurley, suspended indefinitely by the Bulldogs over allegations he violated NCAA rules for allegedly trying to profit from his name while still playing college football.
On the field several Georgia Bulldogs, including defensive back Damian Swann after this interception (above), hoisted up three fingers throughout Saturday’s 34-0 rout at Missouri in support of Gurley (No. 3).
Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel – who was also accused of improper benefits for allegedly collecting money for memorabilia while at Texas A&M – voiced his support for Gurley on Twitter.
And now the support has hit the marketplace, ironically.
The Free Gurley T-shirt sells for only $19, that is only on the condition that at least 50 are ordered.
